Katie founded Pink Petro in 2014 as the world's first social community for women in the energy industry. What started as a blog became a global movement — connecting thousands of women across oil & gas, renewables, utilities, and energy tech. Pink Petro pioneered the conversation about gender equity in energy before it was mainstream, building a platform for mentorship, career development, and advocacy.

Culture as a service for the energy transition

In 2019, Katie evolved Pink Petro into ALLY Energy — a broader platform focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion across the entire energy ecosystem. ALLY Energy provides culture-as-a-service: helping energy companies attract, retain, and develop diverse talent through community, content, and consulting. The flagship event, Women & Allies in Energy, brings together hundreds of leaders annually at the New York Stock Exchange and beyond.

Lean In Energy

Empowering women in energy through community and mentorship

Katie launched Lean In Energy as a dedicated chapter of Sheryl Sandberg's Lean In movement, focused specifically on women in the energy sector. The chapter brought together professionals from across the industry for peer mentorship circles, leadership development, and community building — connecting the Lean In framework to the unique challenges and opportunities facing women in energy.

Houston Energy & Climate Week (HECW) is the annual convening that brings together the energy capital of the world to tackle the most pressing questions at the intersection of energy, climate, and human capital. Katie co-founded HECW to create a neutral, inclusive space where CEOs, policymakers, investors, and community members can have the honest conversations that move the needle on the energy transition.
