My Kindergarten teacher told me that 30 something years ago. Do you think I listened? Did you?
I always chose different colors, textures, and shapes. I preferred the white sheet of paper over the well-defined one with pictures to color. And if that wasn't different enough, I enjoyed the act of coloring on the floor instead of at my desk like all the other little good girls and boys. I was the rebel.
For years our society taught us to be as perfect as we could be. It encouraged sameness and discouraged difference.
The perfect world is no more, because it never existed to begin with.
Who are you kidding? Who are you trying to impress? You think you've got to have it all figured out? Nope. It's messy, yet just the way it ought to be. Embrace it. You only live once. Make something of this mess you've been given!
How are you embracing messy?
